چکیده

In the last time, several efforts were made in order to remove the polarization of membranes from P systems with active membranes; the present paper is a contribution in this respect. In order to compensate the loss of power represented by avoiding polarizations, we introduce tables of rules: each membrane has associated several sets of rules, one of which is nondeterministically chosen in each computation step. Three universality results for tabled P systems are given, trying to use rules of as few as possible types. Then, we consider tables with obligatory rules – rules which must be applied at least once when the table is applied. Systems which use tables with at most one obligatory rule are proven to be able to solve SAT problem in linear time. Several open problems are also formulated.

An Empirical Investigation Comparing IF-THEN Rules and Decision Tables for Programming Rule-Based Expert Systems

This research examines which method is better for programming rule-based expert systems: IF-THEN rules or decision tables. Thirty undergraduate MIS students served as experimental subjects in an eight week study. After four weeks, subjects wrote decision tables covering cases significantly more consistently than IF-THEN rules (p<.01). After eight weeks, however, subjects wrote IF-THEN rules tha...

New scheduling rules for a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent setup times

In the literature, the application of multi-objective dynamic scheduling problem and simple priority rules are widely studied. Although these rules are not efficient enough due to simplicity and lack of general insight, composite dispatching rules have a very suitable performance because they result from experiments. In this paper, a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent se...

Reducing Retrieval Time in Automated Storage and Retrieval System with a Gravitational Conveyor Based on Multi-Agent Systems

The main objective of this study is to reduce the retrieval time of a list of products by choosing the best combination of storage and retrieval rules at any time. This is why we start by implementing some storage rules in an Automated Storage/Retrieval System (Automated Storage and Retrieval System: AS/RS) fitted with a gravity conveyor while some of these rules are dedicated to storage and ot...

Using a Data Mining Tool and FP-Growth Algorithm Application for Extraction of the Rules in two Different Dataset (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In this paper, we want to improve association rules in order to be used in recommenders. Recommender systems present a method to create the personalized offers. One of the most important types of recommender systems is the collaborative filtering that deals with data mining in user information and offering them the appropriate item. Among the data mining methods, finding frequent item sets and ...

Use Semantic Decision Tables to Improve Meaning Evolution Support Systems

Meaning Evolution Support Systems have been recently introduced as a real-time, scalable, community-based cooperative systems to support the ontology evolution. In this paper, we intend to address the problems of accuracy and effectiveness by using Semantic Decision Tables. A Semantic Decision Table separates general decision rules from the processes, bootstraps policies and template dependenci...
